APS Communications cares about the environment. When you see our big red logo, we want you to think green. So we’ve created this page specifically for our eco-conscious initiative, including tips and tricks on conserving energy in your office space and cool new promotional products that can share your “greenification” with everyone. That’s right—Red is green and so can you! Below are just a few ways red is green:
With the APS Communiqué, our email newsletter, and email proofs and order confirmations, we’ve increased our regular customer communication while decreasing our annual paper use. We’ve also added a “paperless” option for all our clients. Simply send an email to info@apscommunications.com with the word “Paperless” in the subject line and we’ll email all future invoices rather than mailing them. Dave also wanted to cut out payroll, but we convinced him to setup direct deposit instead.
Since it is impossible to go completely paperless, we’ve done all we can do to eliminate or re-use our waste paper. So, while our ideas are always fresh, our paper isn’t. We’ve switched to 100% post-consumer recycled paper in our copiers, fax machines and printers. …And the paper that does end up as waste is, of course, recycled.
APS Communications has recently switched to all soy-based inks in our printers. Not only are soy-based inks made from natural soy beans instead of petroleum, but these inks have a brighter, more vibrant color and require less coverage than do many other inks. That’s right—going green and saving some green all at the same time.
APS Communications has now completely switched to all Energy-Star monitors for far less energy consumption and a cool sticker in the top right corner. We also chastised co-workers until they traded in their puppies-n’-rainbows screensavers for the energy-conscious alternative, “sleep mode.” There was some confusion on what this term meant, but an air horn took care of that.
Including potted plants in the workplace is a way to cut down on interior pollution like carbon dioxide. With new plants throughout our offices, we are breathing healthier and working happier.
…and So Can You!
